The Story

Me and Dave first met online late 1998, however at that time we'd only said a polite "Hello" to each other over IRC and ICQ. We chatted on an off but there wasn't anything special at that point

Then in early 1999, I was going through a tough time and so was Dave so we found our self speaking more often, and we went from speaking only online to SMSing each other and calling each other. Eventually we met up in May 1999 and had our first proper"date"

Since that point we've never looked back. Up until July 2001 we were long distance, we either spent the weekend at Daves down south or at my parents up north. It wasn't easy being long distance but during the 2 years plus that we were doing it we only missed about 3 weekends together

On Saturday 12th December after an emotional day (we'd been to an Alpha away day) we went to see a film at the cinema and stopped at the pub next door for a couple of drinks and well, we were talking about the future, and I kept asking Dave when he was going to propose.. so before we went to the cinema he dragged me to the garden area and proposed.. He says I bullied him into it, but I prefer to use the term - Gently persuaded

We were engaged for 2 years.. we got married on 15th December 2001, which was the closest Saturday to the 2 years since Dave had proposed. The wedding service was wonderful, in front of family and close friends and we honeymooned in Malta and spent Christmas over there

We settled back down to life and bought Daves grans house, who sadly passed on and we're currently slowly but surely doing it up.. Everything is good, though we do hope to move up north in a year or so in order to start a Family (We don't think we can afford it down here!)

What else can I say? other than the fact that I feel truly blessed to have met Dave, he truly is my best friend and soul mate and I can't imagine life without him.
